If you are "up" on current available pannels, which panel would you use today?

Hi Darryl,

I may agree with your comments on the very minimal differences in appearence between the Duo and the Arcus but in reality it looks like the Arcus will offer a much a better performance and options. I love the Duo (I have an XT) but the L/D of the Arcus is better, the flaps will help in the take off and also when you need to accelerate but most importantly; for those who love the Duo, we will have the option of a self launcher which is ultimately why I will choose the Arcus M and may be ready to pay higher. The Arcus and T version probably offer only marginal improvements.

Regards

Jose Luis
Cheers

Hi Darryl,

I agree with all this.

It's a pity they dropped the ExpressCard slot and two firewire ports (like on my older MBP). I believe the SD card slot is really fast (256Mb/s?) although I don't believe it supports the "I/O standard" (of which I know nothing).

I'm also disappointed they don't have the matte display option for the 15" and even the 13" MBPs. Steve must use a 17" - I can't see him ever using a glossy display.

It's all a result, I guess of moving the optical drive to the right-hand side so they can have a large battery across the front, and then being left with only one side for ports.

I thought they could be more inventive with battery shapes considering they don't use standard cells. That said, I think the next move (eventually) will be to lose the optical drive (like in the Air).

Most software (excluding major releases) and content is distributed electronically these days, and maybe they'll use SD cards for commercial software / OS releases.

Perhaps then we'll get some decent ports back.

Cheers,
Ashley.

I just heard from contacts at the HVL club that D-KHHH, the DG-10000 talked about here was apparently totally destroyed in a crash. I am told that both pilots survived, but with heavy injuries. I hope they do OK.

Gen

You can, just buy an iPAQ 310, you'll get this reolution, just in a 4.3" size. SeeYou Mobile will be available for the iPAQ 310, it is in beta now. All major soaring software vendors/projects support or have announced future support for these Windows CE devices.
